 Breaking Space News ...

Here's a photo of NASA astronaut Cady Coleman taken before she launched on Dec. 16 (Kazakhstan time) (Dec. 15 US EST) on a Russian Soyuz rocket to the International Space Station where she will be a flight engineer for Expeditions 26 and 27. Coleman, who turned 50 the day before she launched, will be spending about five months at the station. She flew two prior space shuttle missions--STS-73 in 1995 and STS-93 in 1999. Coleman, who is part of the museum's 100 Ohio Women in Air & Space Exhibit, worked for several years at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH while she was on active duty with the U.S. Air Force before her selection as an astronaut in 1992.  Photo Courtesy of NASA
